Lesser-vation

Respected Minister *************,

I am a final year Engineering student, belonging to OBC category. I am thankful to the government for implementing reservations for backward communities.

The first time I witnessed the use of reservations was during my admissions to professional institution. One of my friend belonging to the OC category was 500 ranks ahead of me. Yet he could not get a seat in the college that I am currently studying. Thanks to reservation again. He was always ahead of me in the school and "Reservation" gave me a chance to get the better of him for once. I heard that he is studying in some low ranked college.

I have written my GRE exams to pursue my higher studies abroad. And shockingly I find that none of the US universities have reservations for OBC students. This is grossly unfair and is a discriminating attitide shown by the American universities. I request the Government to urge the US universities to reserve 27% of their seats for OBC students.

All is not over yet. Inspite of these reservations, we face some difficulties. When we go to Satyam complex to watch movies during weekends, we find that the tickets are not available because of advance booking. Hence I request that the Government should enforce 27% reservation for OBCs in theatre complexes also.

Further as backward communities are often associated with economic backwardness also, I request that the theatres should give tickets to OBCs at concession rates and should provide free popcorn and Pepsi during the interval.

Long live "Reservations"
