Whats with grapes?
Tamil cinema-la vara duet-layum, first night scene-slayum.... epavume hero-vum heroine-um, ethanai sweet, pazham ellaam irundhalum, grapes mattum saapidaraangale???? Why???

Extending bala's question, why grapes - why not apple, or pumpkin for that matter? Answer: Valikkum pa :-). Grapes-na oru bunch eduthu heroine thoppil-la adikkalam. Pumpkin adikkanumna namitha-vo mumtaj-o dhaan heroine-a podanum :-)
BTW, telugu movies-la indha paaraptcham-lam illai. All fruits are welcome to heroine's thoppul, thodai matrum inna pira regions :-)

I think grapes are easy to eat. No need to peel the skin and nowadays there are seedless varieties too. And thanks to old tamil movies, they show dubi shek as one with green grapes and girls doing dance around him. So, maybe the other cine directors felt grapes are sensual.
